An excellent opportunity to learn the flora, trees and fauna of Northwoods Wisconsin. Invaluable instruction on how to use this knowledge to point out and locate native birds. Dave Kuckuk and Jim Baughman shared their vast expertise and skill in Forestry and Natural Resources to provide an excellent learning environment for the beginner and intermediate birder. Evening canoe trips, bog and night bird walks became highlights of this program even when late cold spring weather conditions did not favour bird sightings.

For those who canceled because Laura Erickson was not present, you missed two outstanding leaders/guides in Dave Kuckuk and Jim Baughman. Their knowledge of not only birds but the forestry, flora and fauna of Northern Wisconsin is truly outstanding. If you are an experienced birder or just someone starting out, this program should not be missed. Birding, hiking, canoeing, this one has it all.

We attended this program in May of 2014. It was very well run and organized and Laura Erickson was one of the most interesting and knowledgeable bird guides we have experienced. The rooms are nice with shared bathrooms and showers. The variety of places which were included both for walking and canoeing was very interesting. We would highly recommend this program to both beginning and experienced birders.

Spending a week in the Northwoods in May was wonderful. Our birding guide Laura Erickson is very knowledge and it was so much fun getting to know her. Trees for Tomorrow did a super job of hosting our week long stay. The staff at Trees were so helpful and we sure enjoyed all the hikes and canoeing they had planned for us.
