Easy
For people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
Moderate
These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
Active
For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately Challenging
For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
Challenging
Get ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

We took this tour in October of 2012 and were the only non Californians participating. We live in San Antonio, TX and enjoyed all the facts and sites we saw. We would recommend it to all. There is not a lot of hiking, the accommodations were very nice and the food was brought to the hotel. Shirley and Dick

This program is especially valuable for California residents to understand the historical uses and mis-uses of the San Francisco Bay delta and make informed decisions as voters. You will get a whole new perspective on an area that we usually drive over with very knowledgeable and congenial presenters.

The California Delta Backwaters cruise is a short 3 day delightful, relaxing program in beautiful Central California. It is led by three great, personable instructors and it provides several days of comfortable boating during which participants learn a lot about the area, birding fishing, etc. Very enjoyable.

We went on the April 25-28 trip this year and had a great time. See my husband's little video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFe4JfsqeDM

I am not a birder but might have to become one after this program. Even with slightly inclement weather, dozens of birds were pointed out to us by our guides. I am glad that I brought along my binoculars for close up views of the ospreys, hawks, pelicans and other bird life we encountered. On board the boat was a good selection of books, articles and maps to go beyond the narration from our excellent captain and group leaders. Note about the activity level, the walk from the boat to the bus stop is over a very uneven gravel driveway and sidewalk. We were given free time after lunch in Napa and Suisun City to explore on our own. There is plenty to see or do in both cities for all interests. I highly recommend this program.

Previous reviews have had somewhat negative comments about the long boat rides home... I did not find the ride home to be laborious. Perhaps Ron's new boat is more comfortable and faster than the previous one... also Ron and Barbara have so much information to impart that the ride home can be every bit as interesting as the one headed out.
