As always, Road Scholar provided us with a wonderful experience! Felt very secure and well cared for in a somewhat alien environment. Lucas, our group leader, was terrific, and the animals were just incredible. Super trip!

A truly outstanding African adventure. It was, by far, the best trip I have ever taken...and I have traveled all over the world. The program was very well organized and executed. The program's flexibility allowed for the best possible wildlife viewing and cultural education. The trip leader and his team's knowledge of animal species and behavior, environmental considerations and cultural history were exceptional and added immensely to the value of the entire experience. They were a great team and their ease with the group and excellent senses of humor made our travels that much fun. Our fellow program participants were also great -- easy-going, friendly, and travel-wise...it was truly a trip of a lifetime

Best trip ever! Everything exceeded our high expectations. The wildlife sounds and sights were amazing. Lucas, tour director, made the adjustments needed to assure maximum wildlife viewing and comfort. Drivers/guides were helpful in identifying things we would have missed. Fellow participants were engaging, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and always on time. Virginia from DeLand, FL

My wife and I went on this trip (June 7-19, 2012)and it was FANTASTIC! We saw so many animals and birds up close and personal. The food was delicious and plentiful. The drivers/guides were knowledgeable, personable and so willing to share. The accommodations were comfortable and unique (at least to us). Don't hesitate to sign up for this adventure. You won't regret it!

I went on this trip with very high expectations and every day far exceeded my expectations. Seeing the wildebeest migration first hand was spectacular. We saw thousands of animals and thousands of babies. The mobile tents were perfect, giving us lodging very close to the animals. We saw everything that you would expect (elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, lions, cheetahs, antelope) and much more. Our guide was excellent. The drivers were extrememly knowledgeable. All three shared their love of animals and passion for Tanzania, along with personal stories. The trip was much more than animals. We visited several towns and villages, a school, a Masai village, markets, etc. Our group was great. I cannot pick one or two highlights as each day was a highlight for me. I would highly recommend this trip. I would also recommend bringing extra camera batteries and memory cards as photo opportunities abound.

We have just returned for our safari to Tanzania. It was fantastic! Our group leader, Lucas was knowledgeable and very approachable. We went on the March trip and saw tons of baby animals - wildebeests, elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, gibbons, monkeys, etc. Our group was small, interesting, and very friendly. Twice we stayed in luxury tents inside the Serengeti which was fun and surprisingly comfortable. I would recommend this trip for everyone!

Our Safari to Tanzania was amazing to me and my husband in every way. This was both our first group travel and also first Road Scholar experience: it went off without a hitch. We saw (up close and personal!) nearly every Serengeti animal species that exists--many, many times over. Our group received a warm and extended welcome from the men and women at the small Masai village we visited. We were guided through the winding back streets of a small town and spent time in its packed one-room school for 3-to-6-year-olds. We gained great insight about Tanzania's social, economic and political growth and challenges from our exceptionally well-educated and friendly guides. Most rewarding perhaps is being able to close my eyes and revisit a piece of East Africa that a month ago, I could never have imagined.

What an amazing program! Lucas, the leader, was superb. He and the drivers possessed amazing knowledge which they shared freely, answering all our questions & patiently repeated answers. The pace was well thought out, allowing for breaks at optimum intervals. Lodging, even the tents, was comfortable and the food, cooked indoors or in outside kitchens, was good, varied, and ample. Our wildlife viewing was well organized and we saw it all!
This was truly "the trip of a lifetime" thanks to the marvelous staff in every location. My appreciation of our world is much greater today.
I'm looking forward to more experiences like this one in the future---Road Scholar has never let me down in the past----keep up the good work!!!
