Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This was a wonderful combination of inland Alaska at Denali National Park and the coastal area on the Kenai Peninsula. This was early spring for Alaska and during the time we were there we actually saw the change from winter to the greening of the countryside. The weather was wonderful and layering is the key. We saw animals and beautiful scenery in both areas. The lectures were quite informative and varied. Having several days in each location really allowed us to feel that we got to know both areas. The accommodations in both locations were simple but comfortable and the meals were great.

If you want to see wilderness and wild animals roaming free in Denali National Park while you learn about them and about native people who live in the area, this is a fabulous opportunity.

This was one of the best trips I've done. Fall is a beautiful time of year in Alaska. Everyone involved, the leaders, guides, teachers, employees we encountered were great. I heartily recommend this program to anyone interested in seeing and learning about this unique place.

We both enjoyed the program very much. Always wanted to go inland in Alaska. Every where you looked you could have framed the picture. Road Scholar programs are always well planned and the instructors are the best. Rowena, e-mail me, please. We have been on 20 and 21 programs and always learn and see new and interesting things. Housing at Trail Lake Lodge could use a little inexpensive improvements or maybe a place in Seward. But with Elderhostel as with Road Scholar, you learn to go with the flow and all you remember later are the really good and fun happenings.

We loved our stay at Denali Learning Center and Trail Lake Lodge. At the Denali Learning Center, we were especially treated to wholesome, healthy, delicious food. Our instructors were great at both locations.Lodging was very adequate at both locations! Both had beautiful views !

Better descriptions of the accomadations. Small and cramped.

No true connection to the outside world. no internet, no wi fi. People these days should be able to keep connected to world and national news, like hurricanes in progress and the effect on their travel, ways to print boarding passes and plane information without going to a neighboring hotel or bar.

Lots of time on a bus going in and out of Seward, why not stay in Seward and not drive back and forth to Moose Pass every day. I do understand the eco impact of less time in Moose Pass.
