"On the Road in Northern New Mexico" is to become immersed in the true "Land of Enchantment." The balance of program selections is a work of art in itself, from history lectures and museums to field trips and demonstrations to art galleries and street vendors to beautiful scenery to ancient Pueblos and their peoples. New Mexico stands out for me as one our "hidden" national treasures, and this trip more than adequately explored it beauty and complex history/culture. Bravo to Road Scholar for an outstanding program, planned and executed with rare excellence down to the minute details.

My trip to New Mexico included visits to Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos. Our guide through this beautiful and diverse area was interesting and provided a good deal of information and isight into the topography, cultures and history of each place we visited. I travelled with a wonderful group of people and my first experience as a Road Scholar exceded my expectations in every way.

Our recent trip to Northern New Mexico was an absolutely wonderful experience...educational and fun. A beautiful part of our country. Our tour guide was terrific!

This program was wonderful. I learned more than I had imagined about the pueblo people and their life and connection to the land. As I look back, I am amazed at all we learned and saw from Albuquerque to Santa Fe to Taos, and back to Albuquerque. Great scheduling of intinerary for this trip.

I learned so much on this trip. Leader, Martha Yates, was excellent. Highlights were potter Paul Speckled Rock, flautist Ronald Roybal, state Capitol art collection, and history and culture talks. We had comfortable hotels and memorable regional meals, especially at the Trading Post Cafe in Taos. I knew a fair amount about the Pueblo Indians already, but gained a new appreciation of the Hispanic population and of the rough and ready history of Taos. Highly recommend this trip. Our group included several singles - I will not hesitate to attend future tours alone. Ours was a most congenial group and that added to the fun.

This was our first Road Scholar experience. We were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Taken as a whole it was the best tour we've ever been on.

I would highly recommend the Albuquerque, Santa Fe & Taos, Northern NM trip. The history of the culture, the blue sky and dry weather, and the breath-taking topography are not to be missed. I learned more history of the southwest during this exciting and fun-filled week than in the sum total of my high school and college education. Not to be missed.

This was an absolutely wonderful trip! We learned so much about the area in No. New Mexico. Our group leader was excellent and so well informed. The program was active but very well paced. We enjoyed learning about the Native American people in the pueblos. Also, enjoyed visiting the many museums. Our group leader was Marlin Gilbert. My only negative comment would be the accomodations at the MCM Elegante in Albuquerque. They were doing major construction at this hotel, and we were put in the older part of said hotel. Otherwise the help there were wonderful, especially the people at the desk and the young men that drove the shuttles.

I throughly enjoyed the trip. It enlightens one about that part of the country and it's importance and future problems. The Indian and Spanish cultures and influences are seen everywhere.

This was a great program and the accommodations were excellent with the exception of the MCM Elegante. The MCM placed some of the group in the oldest, run down , worn out section the facility. The bathroom was corroded with mold. Shower would not hold a temperature. The curtains were frayed with holes in the fabric. Carpet was worn with missing pieces. Sliding door would not lock. Worst part were the refigerated 18 wheelers that were parked right outside the room with extremely loud compressors running all night. Impossible to sleep. I listed these deficiencies in my review of the program. We did not receive value on this part of the program. I am disappointed to see that the MCM is still on the itinerary.

The Northern New Mexico program was fascinating, especially for those who are interested in less familiar cultures within the United States. I enjoyed our visits to Indian pueblos and Spanish villages. I highly recommend this trip.

This was an interesting and informative trip to a very unique part of our country. The Indian and Mexican cultures are a fascinating part of our history. We learned and saw a great deal and to some extent that was the problem. Participants saw but did not experience these three cities. We were very busy the entire day amd into the night on some occasions. All hotels were outside of the cities so we could not use evenings or early mornings to explore the area. Hotels ran from good to excellent and restaurant choices were likewise. A satisfying trip with fantastic travel mates but we and others were exhausted.
