EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Road Scholar planned a wonderful introduction to the Grand Canyon that I thoroughly enjoyed. We enjoyed seeing the beginning and the end of the canyon on rafts on the Colorado River and the helicopter ride was awesome. The trip exceeded my expectations.

My sister Flo (Snohomish, WA) chose this trip and what an excellent choice: an adventure from start to finish into remote areas along the Colorado River; lessons in geology, culture, history from an articulate instructor/tour leader, Jen. Kudos to our capable bus driver, Chuck. Thank you N. Arizona Univ. and Road Scholar for a well-planned trip.

This program met all my expectations. The leader was most informative and personable, the schedule was right on target, planning and execution couldn't have been better. The activity level was as advertised. Thanks for a great program.

The helicopter ride was amazing!

We had an incredibly awesome time, highlighted by a raft trip down the Colorado River, where we saw a mountain lion emerge from the river and climb the embankment. It's true! See the photo I took.

For those of you who have never been to the Grand Canyon, this program will provide much more than you might expect. It is phenomenal. And, for those of you who have been to the Grand Canyon just to see the big, vast hole carved by nature, you should consider attending this program to view the canyon from the bottom up (i.e. pontoon rafting) as well as cultural with the Native Americans (Navajo and Hualapi).

Lanell from Pooler, GA Number of programs attended: 4
Date attended: 04/16/12 - 04/22/12
Just completed "A Grand Canyon Odyssey: River Journeys and Canyon Vistas". Seeing the canyon from several locations and two prospectives, standing on the rim and looking down, and rafting down the river and looking up was awesome. Our leader, Bruce, was great. Would do this program again in a heartbeat.
