ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

For an understanding of the history and religious strife that has shaped the current political climate in Turkey and in the Middle East, Legends to History is the tour to take.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Turkey with Road Scholar. We learned so much about the country, its history and the Turkish people. Our tour guide, Senol, provided very interesting lectures as we traveled from one town to another. We also had a very capable, friendly bus driver. Every stop from Capadoccia to Istanbul was educational as well as fascinating. Most of the hotels were very good quality. Lunches at local restaurants were very tasty (and considerably better than the dinner buffets at the hotels). Overall, the trip exceeded our expectations.

I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to explore the rich history and culture of Turkey. It was fast paced and somewhat strenuous but extremely well organized with an exceptional guide. The food was absolutely delicious -most of us bought cook books! I would call this adventure exotic but more accessible than say somewhere like India.

This trip continues the Road Scholar tradition of excellence. Our guide was superb... in every way. Knowledgeable, affable, competent, dedicated. Our traveling companions were informed, inquisitive and respectful. The food, especially from the restaurants where we stopped along the way, was varied and delicious. Our accommodations ranged from hotels with balcony views of the Mediterranean and Aegean to one viewing the plains of Cappadocia. All were comfortable, clean and pleasant. The country is, of course, a treasure... its history, culture and people. And, now, I am better informed about it.
