EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

The Mesa Verde Program was very educaional and thoroughly
enjoyable. The leader was extremelly helpful and knowledgable. The train trip, in spite of bad weather, was an experience not to be missed. Unfortunately, due to a health issue that arose, my participation in some of thew
activies was limited, but the leader was very helpful and
considerate in seeing that I was able to participate as
much as possible. Would certainly recommend the trip to
everyone.

This trip, my 2nd with Road Scholar, more than met my expectations. The personal stories of our leader and the speakers added a special touch. The weather didn't always cooperate but we adapted and took it in stride. Add a few days before or after because there are so many great areas to see on your drive to Mesa Verde regardless of which city you fly into.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience on this program, despite pretty awful weather. The program coordinator skillfully adapted to the weather. We learned a lot about the culture of the early Puebloans, visited many sites in Mesa Verde, heard about the ins and outs of the National Park, got to hear the story of a Navaho artist and his artistic process, and had an amazing train journey. If you are willing to walk a little bit and climb a few ladders, you can be astounded.
