This trip was everything that I hoped for and more. Great rapids, great rocks, great food and great people. I will never forget floating down the Little Colorado. I agree with what Carl said about the AZRA guides and also the NAU coordinator, Srewart Lasseter, was very helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

A great program, loved the river. The ARZA guides (Jack, Clare and Steiner) were great. I liked sleeping out under the stars. A large group 25 but every one stayed together. Enjoyed drinking coffer at 5 in the morning with the group watching the sun come up. The first couple of days were cool wished I brought better rain gear. I would highly recommend this program.

Excellent. BJ Boyle, Jody Tinsley, & April Childress (AZRA)and Matt Turner(Road Scholar)made a great team! They provided geology information and lots of local history, shared legends and stories, and even provided musical entertainment. Their patience and knowledge created a wonderful camaraderie with lots of surprises and laughter along the way. This trip was a 10!

It wasn't until I was looking at the AZRA Grand Canyon Playing cards on the bus leaving the Canyon that I realized how much we had learned about the history, geology, flora and fauna of this amazing landscape. Brad, Kate, RJ, Margeaux, and Mike were very knowledgeable and generous with the information they shared about the classroom that they so love and respect. What I appreciated the most was the way they encouraged us to experience and savor all the possibilities of each day as we immersed ourselves in a world that was a pleasure for all our senses. We were blessed with beautiful weather, starlit nights with a full moon, wildlife sightings, fantastic food, fun traveling companions, exciting rapids and vistas that were food for the soul. It truly was a trip of a lifetime.

Sandy from Chester, CT Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 05/22/13 - 05/31/13
This trip was unlike any trip I have ever taken. For eight days we experienced a world made up of water, rapids to navigate, sandy beaches to camp on and majestic canyon walls to gaze upon. It truly was a feast for the senses. The hectic pace of life outside the canyon was left behind and we were able to enjoy another reality thousands of feet below the canyon's rim. It as a world of only natural sounds - rushing water, wind, birds - and incredible beauty. And sleeping under the moon and stars. What a treat! As Brad, one of the AzRA boatman said as we ended out trip, "now you have to return to the other world and leave the real world behind." Boy, was he right.
