See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

The Life and Land of the Hopi was wonderful from start to finish. It gave me an appreciation for Hopi culture and left me wanting to go back and learn more. Ray Coin, the leader, is excellent both in the material he presented and in bringing in other instructors and in overall organization. The Hopi Cultural Center Motel is comfortable and staff are pleasant, and there is an informative museum on site. Photos are allowed during presentations but not when visiting the ancient pueblos.

Field trip to First Mesa was a delight. Loved the atmosphere of Hopi area and the friendliness of the Hopi people.

I loved this program. The leader was competent, articulate, and warm. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and well located. The native people were a joy to meet.

The program organized, led, and taught by Ray Coin on the Hopi reservation gave me a good understanding of the Hopi way of life. Each of the additional lecturers and demonstrators added depth to my experience on the reservation. And being treated in a welcoming, friendly way by the staff at the motel/restaurant where we spent almost all of our time (since the lectures and most of the demonstrations take place there) was icing on the cake.

An outstanding of Hopi culture and history in a harsh environment with few resources, but with an appreciation for the beautiful lifestyle they have preserved. The Hopi are a wonderful people.
