This is a comprehensive cultural tour of Dublin, and the guide, Catriona, was a wonderful personal resource. Anyone interested in the arts should enjoy this tour, though those with physical challenges may find a bit of difficulty navigating some sites. The hotel Ashling is convenient and comfortable with a great lounge downstairs and tasty, hearty breakfasts every morning. Lovely to stay at one home base for entire tour, too. Overall, this proved a fantastic experience with interesting travel companions.

Immersion in a very rich city, both culturally and historically. Not every venue had a lift, and some had longer walks, so some guests could not get the full experience. Hotel was comfortable and food excellent. In particular I liked the walking tour in the Joyce/Wilde neighbourhood - it really concentrated my knowledge of city and culture and history in an excellent way. And Glasnevin? The tour guide brought history to life in such an impassioned way. My first Road Scholar trip and I hope not my last.

This was a wonderful introduction to Dublin and its history, literature, art, and theater. The field trips were many and varied but there was still time for a free afternoon. Add to that a beautiful hotel with delicious food and you can't go wrong.

What a wonderful overview of theatre, art, history, and literature in Dublin--I couldn't have asked for a better itinerary! For virtually every site we visited, Road Scholar provided an excellent local guide to give us the history and background of what we were experiencing. The Ashling Hotel was extremely nice, the meals were delicious, and our tour director Eileen was wonderful--personable, resourceful, and accessible. I wouldn't hesitate to travel with Road Scholar again.

This was an outstanding cultural and educational program, though a little more rigorous than its "easy" classification would indicate. Leader Eileen Leahy was knowledgable and very helpful. In our seven days we visited museums, historic houses, the Houses of Parliament and the haunts of famous authors and playwrights and saw three plays. A bonus was that we were there for the historic vote on equality for all!
