ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Great trip, mostly because of our leader, Alfio. Not only is he a skilled photographer, he is also an excellent teacher. We were in a beautiful spot in the world and everyday we would have the benefit of listening to his ideas and techiques on capturing the beauty that we were seeing. He was very available during photo shoots with ideas and suggestions.I learned a lot about the mechanics as well as the aesthetics of photography. And we had a lot of fun in the process.
I recommend this trip to photographers of all abilities. You will definitely learn. And the Amalfi Coast is an incredible place to be. It was quite warm some days but the pool and the beach were welcome diversions. Days on the road with photo shoots, a return to the hotel and a dip in the pool, dinner and then sunset shoots on the adjacent beach. Wonderful! Hopefully we'll get a chance to travel with Alfio again.

I just returned from my first-ever Road Scholar trip--photography on the Amalfi Coast, a match made in Heaven. And if the location, choice of daily excursions, and subject matter weren't enough, the workshop leader made it a perfect week. Alfio is not only a gifted photographer but a patient and insightful instructor. I think we all--regardless of skill level and photography experience--learned a tremendous amount from him (as well as from each other, which he strongly encouraged) and benefited from his perspective and thoughtful critiques of our work. He used his own personal contacts to supplement the itinerary planned by Road Scholar--a trip to a family-owned paper-making factory, for example--and was constantly on the lookout for great photo opportunities for us as we traveled to and from our planned activities. He pushed us to move beyond our comfort level in shooting and editing (with Lightroom and Photoshop), and challenged us to rethink many of the assumptions we had brought with us from our previous photography experiences--all to our benefit. My hope is that Road Scholar will realize what a gem they have found in Alfio and use his expertise to conduct future photography workshops in other areas of Italy--specifically, his native Sicily or Tuscany. I think there are a number of us from this trip who would jump at the chance to travel with, and learn from, Alfio again. Grazie, Road Scholar and Alfio, for a terrific and productive week.
