Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

The hotel location in Paris is within walking distance of Notre Dame Cathedral, and surrounded by nice places to eat as well as wine, cheese and bakery shops. Mia, our group leader, succeeded in creating a cohesive group that was always on time. Muguet, the lecturer/guide in Paris, was knowledgeable, articulate, and fun. She had many stories to tell on our walking tours and bus tours.
The Best Western in Lyon is a beautiful hotel with an awesome breakfast buffet. Yannik, our lecturer/guide, knew his subject well, was able to communicate with the group, and led a fascinating tour of Old Lyon. The Home Visit with a local family was especially enlightening. We all came back comparing our unforgettable experiences during breakfast the next morning.
Avignon hotel is on the main street of the Old Section, by the Pope's Palace. Step out the door and you are in the middle of history. We had plenty of free time to explore on our own, and the non-included dinner was appreciated because we walked to one of the recommended sidewalk cafes in the Old Section. A great people-watching spot. It was nice not to be part of a group; romantic just like you see in the movies. Menus are in French with English subtitles, so it was easy to order, and most of the wait staff speak English.
The field trip to the ranch is so interesting. We saw the black bulls that are trained for non-killing bull fights, and watched the cowboys conduct a bull-training session. Then they told us about the white Camargue horses, and put on a horse-riding performances before hosting a delicious meal in the ranch dining room.
Wine tasting...ochre hills...Arles...pink flamingos...wild horses...so much that I can't describe it all. Just want to say that this is a WONDERFUL program. A real taste of France.
