Inter-generational Classics Italy: Rome, Florence, Venice was a wonderful trip. A small group 6 teenagers and 8 grandparents walked all over the historically significant areas of Rome, Florence, and Venice. It was a trip of a lifetime excellently arranged.

This was the trip of a lifetime. Our tour had 5 boys and 6 girls, mainly ages 15 to 17. Italy in July is hot (101 degrees) and humid (71%). Even my hearing aids rusted. We walked 6 to 8 miles a day, including evening strolls. I am not guessing at the distances because I had my GPS tracker. The guides were great, lecturers very knowledgeable, the hotels centrally located, and the Florence hotel even had a roof-top pool. We were in Venice for the Feast of the Redeemer fireworks which scored high marks. The kids had a great time, and so did the grandparents. Our tour group changed the Venice itinerary to go out to Murano Island for glass blowing instead of the Peggy Guggenheim Modern Art Museum – which I feel was the correct decision. This is a great tour, but make sure you are physically ready for a non-stop adventure walking among some of the world’s greatest treasures.

This is an activity packed twelve days in three very old cities with completely different personalities. Summertime in Italy is very hot and there is a LOT of walking. Most of the sites are the best known ones and you will see the things you have dreamed of actually seeing. There are a few delightful surprise activities and opportunities for lots of gelato!

Very good introduction to the history & culture of the three cities included. The guide was both personable & knowledgeable. A most pleasant experience!

This was my first experience abroad and with RoadScholars and I cannot say enough good about the experience. My granddaughter and I completely enjoyed every minute. I plan on taking more trips with my other grandchildren as well as alone.
