Easy
For people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
Moderate
These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
Active
For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately Challenging
For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
Challenging
Get ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This program was excellent in every way! The perfect mix of environment, science, natural and historic information! Loved the individuals we traveled with and the small size of the group. Best of all was our extremely competent group leader, Alberto! Would definitely recommend!

it was great to be out of doors in a balmy climate after a cold winter at home. The tropics of the U.S. are facinating.

This trip was fascinating. The group of 25 was on time and great to have has traveling companions. We visited 3 state parks and 3 national parks like none other in the US! We had great weather. The free time in Key West was perfect and allowed for us to choose what we wanted to see. The guides were great in keeping the schedule on time so we didn't miss anything. Great trip.

Pick-up and return transport to airport very convenient. Tour leaders supportive and helpful. Itinerary (3 national parks, etc.) fascinating. Accommodations en route excellent. Provided meals very good (restaurants and picnics). Travel companions were a congenial group. All in all - a wonderful experience. Henry

I enjoyed the program. This was my first trip to the Keys and the Everglades and it was a great introduction. The free day in Key West allowed me to see the museums and historical sites that interested me. The trip leaders Estere and Betty did an excellent job managing the trip and the are very knowledgeable on the Keys and Everglades. The trip is rated Active (Easy, Moderate, Active, Moderately Challenging, Challenging). I think that the rating should be moved down to Moderate or there should be some hikes included of more than a half mile to bring up it to the Active level.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Road Scholar for discerning travelers. The combination of education with sightseeing creates a more fulfilling travel experience. We enjoyed the trip to Key West and Everglades immensely and will always treasure the trip we took to Grand Canyon when the organization was called Elderhostel. The quality of service has been superb.
