See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn and be with others who are intrigued by the particular location and subjects too. I purposefully came alone and all were welcoming. A smart and cozy experience! Would do it again in a heart beat!

Despite some closures because of hurricane Sandy, Jane Huffman made sure we got as much of the programming in as possible. This is my 6th Road Scholar trip inside of a year and she is by far one of the best leaders I have had. The facility was wonderful- the food and food service was excellent. The speakers were informative and engaging.I'd recommend this trip to anyone.

The Asheville Program is worth taking....the Black Mountains in the fall are filled with color and the history of the area is interesting. Very much worth considering to take this trip.

This was the first Road Scholar program we attended. It was also our first trip to North Carolina. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed each day. It was a great value for everything that was included. Our coordinator Jane was wonderful and couldn't have done more to make our experience more enjoyable. We are feady to book our next Road Scholar trip!

Gerald from Somerset, KY Number of programs attended: 107
Date attended: 09/23/12 - 09/28/12
Although I was there a bit early for the peak of the fall foliage, it was still an enjoyable program. The coordinator, Jane Huffman, kept the field trips on schedule and there was ample time at each stop for the sights. The mountains are beautiful at anytime of the year. There was good food each day with snacks available between meals. The program gave me a better understanding of the area and of the Cherokee. Highly recommended.

Richard from Cary, NC Number of programs attended: 6
