This program was superb. The stay at Aigas Field Centre was a delight - the staff and Rangers there did everything possible to make us feel welcome. Lady Lucy's cooking was beyond delicious. While this was not a birding program, there were many birds to see, and the knowledgeable Rangers, armed with Swarovski scopes, helped us identify them.

Just go! It is a beautiful experience complete with historical and natural information/events set in an Eden like location complete with divine food including daily afternoon tea and led by enthusiastic, well-informed, fun-loving young rangers.

This was a great program. The Aigas Center provides a wonderful environmental education and conservation experience by imparted to us their knowledge of the unique ecological features of Scotland. Their Ranger Guides are terrific and their enthusiasm is infectious. ThCenter is a jewel and its a shame that after 2015, future Road Scholars will not get to enjoy this experience on it. program.

We had a terrific time at Aigas House & Field Centre. The program was diverse, with a pleasant mix of history, wildlife and conservation, and culture...in a beautiful and serene setting. Lady Lucy was so charming and her food was wonderful, Sir John was a gracious host and the Rangers were all lovely, bright younger people. We especially enjoyed convivial cocktails by the fire, entertained by the resident Jack Russel terriers Nip and Tuck!

Absolutely a great program if you want a combination of natural and political history and you don't have to be Scottish to enjoy. The Aigas Field center is an experience not to be missed!

The natural beauty of Scotland comes to vivid life in this wonderful tour. AIGAS rangers and hosts, Sir John and Lady Lucy, make this an unforgettable, lovely introduction to the country.

Visiting the Highlands has been a dream of mine for a long time. This program and particularly Aigas helped fulfill it.

This is an outstanding program. The time in Edinburg was the festival time so dense crowds. The time in the Highlands was outstanding. Breathtaking scenery, excellent guides, delicious food, and relaxing lodging. We truly experienced Scotland and not just touched upon tourist spots.

The program covered the nature, history and a little bit of geology of the Scottish Highlands. We spent the first two nights in a convenient downtown hotel in Edinburgh. Our guide provided a colorful description as we traveled North into the highlands. The next seven nights were spent at the Aigas Field Center in cabins which were characteristic of camp accommodations. Delicious food was served in the baronial hall of the country estate which was a short walk down the hill. Our last two nights were spent traveling to the Isle of Skye with accommodations in a delightful hotel. The final night was next to the airport. Overall, the accommodations were adequate and the food was plentiful and very good. The program was varied and interesting. The rangers from Aigas that helped with the porgram were excellent.

I loved the In the Scottish Highlands adventure. All of my questions from my research of Scotland were answered. Lord John and Lady Lucy at Aigas went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. This tour was a great introduction to a country I plan to visit again

Imagine spending ten days in a place where there is nothing to offend the eye. That is the Scottish Highlands: beauty at every turn. Even in cold rainy weather, we came back to the Aigas Center every evening, sated with interesting information about History and Nature, to a warm fire and a generous gourmet meal prepared by Lady Lucy. I wish the bus had slowed its pace as we drove through the stunning scenery between Aigas and Skye; maybe it will next year. Margaret from Virginia

We enjoyed the hospitality of Lady Lucy at the Aigas Center and the enthusiasm, and knowledge of the Aigas rangers. The field trips were very well planned and gave us a broad view of the Scottish Highlands. Edinburgh is an amazing city especially at the time of the annual Arts Festival. The weather was typically Scots summer with all sorts of temperature and moisture ranges, just pack for all possibilities. We would have liked to have more hands on wildlife experiences at the Aigas Center, but this is an action packed trip. We can't wait to get back to Scotland, it is a rather magical place with lovely people. Rick and Lois from Arizona

Enjoyed this trip despite almost continuous drizzle and subnormal temps for August, but be sure to plan for temp changes and wet days.... waterproof shoes, rain pants, hats and gloves better to have and not need. There were several options to increase hiking/walking trips that my husband and I appreciated. Lady Lucy is an absolutely gracious, delightful hostess, and the guides are knowledgable and personable. Food and accommodations were just fine. Paul and Barbara, Beverly, MA.

This was a vacation made in heaven! We were royally treated by everyone at Aigas, and we learned a great deal about the history and culture of Scotland, and especially the Highlands. I have already told several friends that if they're going to Scotland, this is the way to go. If I may add just one or two tiny criticisms -- another day in Edinburgh would have been great, and since the festival that includes the military tattoo was in swing when we were there, it would have been nice to have had tickets for that.

This was a terrific program! We were treated like welcome guests, the food and views were terrific, and everyone on the Aigas team was friendly and knowledgeable. The program was well organized, and each day included interesting field trips. We learned about Scottish history and ecology, visited lochs, castles, ruins, and gardens, sampled haggis and whisky, and had "just enough" free time. I enjoyed our time in Edinburgh, but the highlands were the real treat!

The program was educational and fun. The food at Aigas was fantastic. Moderate exercise was just right for me. The Lister-Kayes and their whole team are extraordinarily welcoming. What an impressive team! Laundry service is available at Aigas. Coffee and tea is available in your room. Also they provided hairdryers and bottle of water for refill. So do not pack these items.
