Easy
For people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
Moderate
These programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
Active
For people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately Challenging
For hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
Challenging
Get ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

A great overview of what Paris has to offer. Sorry I didn't stay a few more days to further explore places that interested me as well as just hanging out in some of the sidewalk cafes and gardens. A different hotel site (closer to the heart of the city) would be an improvement, possibly the Marais area.

Paris is a wonderful city and exploring the history and art is an experience not to be missed. Using the metro and walking the streets brings the real Paris alive!!:)

Nancy and Frank from Lexington KY Number of programs attended: 6 Date Attended: 9-30-12 to 10-6-12 We certainly enjoyed the program and especially appreciated Jacques' and Malcolm's efforts to add so much information and personal care to our trip. Our accommodations were comfortable, subway travel worked well, and information to go out on our own were all well taken care of. We look forward to more trips with Road Scholar and fellow curious travelers.

This program was accurately described...However, the temptation to "do it all" was very strong...and by the 3rd day, the energy level ebbed somewhat...

Just came back from the October 14 -23 independent Paris Tour. It was a great experience. Loved the guided tours and the opportunity to go on our own. I loved the fact that we used the metro daily and it made me feel comfortable in the city. We extended our trip two days and we felt like Parisians using the metro and traveling about. The lectures by Malcolm were informative, interesting and entertaining. Jacque was a great group leader who kept the group together with his Go!.Go! Go!. Loved it. Even the rain did not spoil the program.

Rita from Hot Springs Village: This was my first Road Scholar trip and I would have to say it was a wonderful experience. The guides, Rita and James were wonderful and so knowledgable. Though I had been to Paris before, this was such a learning experience. I highly recommend this tour, but only to those who are capable of extensive walking and are a little bit independent.

I did love this trip. Tho' not my first trip to Paris, I learned a lot , thanks in no small part to our terrific guides, Rita & James. I felt there was a good balance of organized tours & free time - was pleased with that. The biggest improvement would have been the weather - so much rain! But with raincoats & umbrellas, we all soldiered on & had a fantastic week.

Just returned from the 10/7 to 10/14 Independent Paris Trip. My husband and I enjoyed the whole program and appreciated the work that everyone associated with Road Scholar did to make our week so worthwhile. I don't speak French well at all so I wanted some serious hand holding, our guides couldn't have been more accommodating. Anyone wanting to learn a lot about Paris in a short time should seriously consider this trip.

"Independent Paris" Sept. 30-Oct. 7 was delightful. It was my first trip to Paris, so I went on all the tours, including the optional ones in the afternoons. Others who were more familiar with the city went off on their own. It all worked nicely. We stayed at a very nice hotel; although because of unforeseen circumstances it was less near the main attractions than the original one chosen, the Metro turned out to be fairly easy to navigate, with many stops near where we wanted to go. We had some beautiful weather and some chilly rain, but it all worked out. I recommend the program.
