I thought it was a top-notch program. The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful throughtout the trip. The landings were somewhat difficult but our guides made sure we all made the boat. It was a delightful tour and we could not have asked formore helpful guides.

As trips go, I give it a B. But I learned more and understood history and politics in a more informed way. The content was excellent, but these countries are suffering from the tragedies of their past and mismanagement in the present, and it's depressing to think about. This is my 38th program.

This was my first Road Scholar trip. I have traveled extensively and I give this tour experience an A+. The primary tour guides in Czech and Hungary were both outstanding. The tour provided a wonderful combination of site attractions with a worthwhile historical learning experience through knowledgeable local personnel.

Excellent trip, very interesting. I really enjoyed the different perspectives on the post-WWI and post-WWII experiences of Czech and Hungary. We had a very touching visit with a Budapest family.

We found Prague to be lovely. Natives are formal in politeness and speach, but very approachable. Their national obsession with marionetts is wonderful! Bratislava has not advanced as far as Prague in its post-Communist reconstruction so the atmosphere is still a bit bleak, but worth experiencing. They and Budapest both claim to be the most secular nations in the world! We enjoyed boating down the Danube to Budapest and were wowed by our first siting of their pink parlament building. I especially liked our interaction with natives, both in the city and in the countryside.
