This was a wonderful program, with just the right amount of "free time" and escorted visits to museums and interesting cities. Our guides were delightful and the hotels very comfortable. Our weather was great and I especially enjoyed the outdoor sculpture gardens that we toured. Highly recommended for those who enjoy art history.

A delightful exposure to Flemish and Dutch masters. You can literally overload on Van Eykes, Vermeers, Rembrandts, and Van Goghs! Plus, you are exposed to other master artists of the golden age of Dutch and Flemish art. Only two hotels over 12 days makes for a relaxing and enjoyable exploration of Belgium and the Netherlands. A memorable program.

Some of the greatest art museums in Europe, well-informed guides and lecturers and an enthusiastic tour group made this tour enlightening and fun. A definite must for art lovers!

Very full program with wonderful art and lectures. The trip was well organized and provided lots of opportunities to really learn about the Flemish artists. The museums and churches were great and the sculpture parks were real gems! I recommend this program!

This Road Scholar trip, Art History in Belgium and Holland was absolutely superb and well worth every penny. The trip was so well organized and the expert led lectures were terrific. The guides did such a terrific job of arranging transportation and meals as well as providing incredible information and history about the countries visited. They obviously loved sharing the treasures with us.

This was one of the most fulfilling of the programs that I have attended. I am particularly interested in 15C. Flemish art and to see the Ghent altarpiece, even as it is being restored was an experience I won't forget. The rest of what we saw was pretty amazing as well. The 6 lectures by experts were extremely helpful in preparing us for what we would be seeing. I had seen the Rijksmuseum during the time it was being renovated. To see it in its new clothes was such an exciting experience. Same for the Rubens amazing triptychs in the Antwerp cathedral surrounded by a number of art from another museum gave them real context. The program is not for non-walkers. Two miles per day is no idle threat! Thank goodness for taxis. The accommodations were comfortable (4 star) and well located. Meals were exellent. Highly recommend this trip. Put your walking shoes on and train for the walks. Well worth the effort.

If you are interested in art, and particularly Dutch/Flemish art, this trip is just wonderful! We had many visits to museums and other locations, excellent lectures by art historians, and our tour guides were warm, helpful, organized. I've never enjoyed any Road Scholar trip as much!

I strongly recommend this program to anyone interested in art or who would like to be. Belgium and the Netherlands have a fascinating history that the artists of this region captured in their works.

This was my second Road Scholar trip and it won't be my last. It was exhilarating and exhausting. I learned so much about Belgium and the Netherlands, the Flemish artists of the past and the architecture of the ancient towns we visited. I am continuing my education since we returned home. I only wish there had been fewer participants.

I am an art history minor, and someone who regularly visits the many art museums of New York City. I was in love with this trip!
