Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

One of my top choices among your offerings. It was my 23rd program from your organization, all European and in the last 9 years.

This trip encompasses four wonderful countries to visit. People in all four counties are fluent English speakers which makes it easier to get around but also possible to converse with the locals. The food was not exciting, but it was always well prepared with large buffet breakfasts in all locations. Denmark, Norway and Sweden all use their particular Kroner and only Finland uses the Euro. I took the June/July trip and packed clothes for layering. We were fortunate to have good weather all along with temperatures in the 80s at times which was unusually high. Prepare for anything.

My trip highlights included the trip to Denmark's Louisiana Art Museum (but we needed one more hour), Millesgarden in Stockholm, the many interesting lectures and an amazing cruise on the ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki through the archipelago - it was a beautiful night.

I read now that Road Scholar is offering this trip in 2012 from June 3-20 as a Category 2 trip designed as an easier-paced adventure. I would take this trip in a minute (if I hadn't just come back). The trip as a Category 4 includes a lot of walking and a lot of stairs.

I would hope that in the future that a city-center hotel might be selected for Stockholm. The Rica Talk Hotel at International Fair was too remote.

These countries are well worth seeing - there's a lot to like.

All guides were VERY knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and good representatives of the country they were presenting. Their briefings were universally educational and frequently presented heretofore unknown facts.

The sights varied from young folks sitting along the water chatting & reading to a view fro the top of an Opera House. Boating along the canals and seeing the Little Mermaid for real, enjoying the sight of old houses and multiple towers as well as many statues helped bring each country's heritage alive.

English was universally understood in each country and everyone we met was friendly and helpful.

The food was tasty and plentiful both in the hotels and the restaurants we visited. They sure love potatoes!

Prices were a bit higher than in the US but not enough to inhibit shopping or buying food and drink.

Overall this is an excellent program that introduces one to today's Scandinavia.
