ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

We strongly agree with all the comments from other members of our group. This is an outstanding program. We loved hiking through the beautiful Spanish countryside Our leaders Nacho and Pedrojaun did a excellent job informing us about the Spanish culture, history and architecture. We especially enjoyed sharing some special meals and wine with our fellow pilgrims. It was in all an unforgettable experience.

Nacho, Pedro Juan and Luis what great group leaders. My fellow pilgrims thank you for your support, encouragement, acceptance, great conversation, and camaraderie. Whenever I think about our trip I will think about all of you.

May 2012 Road Scholar Camino de Santiago Program
Even better than we believed it would be.

Linda and I join our fellow peregrinos to heap highest praise on our ultra-knowledgeable, super-efficient and good-humored two shepherds (Nacho our pacesetter at the fore & Pedro Juan our steadfast guardian at the rear), and we'll add to form a modern Iberian triumvirate, Luis, our most capable driver.

Add to this our fellow road scholars - what a wonderful bunch of folks.

It was a most excellent adventure; though, certainly not a trip for couch pilgrims. To fully enjoy this program, participants should be much more than in pretty good physical condition. Though coddled with wonderful feasts and lodging, we were physically challenged out on the trail.

I'll repeat highest available praise - "A trip of a lifetime."

This was an exceptional trip. The hotels were excellent, food great, wine fun and special, and due to our guides Nacho and his able assistant, P.J., including Luis, our very responsible driver, we had a wonderfully challenging and educational experience. It truly was a trip of a lifetime!!!!

What a wonderful trip. It exceeded my expectations. Food, lodging and transportation were superb. The guides, each and every one, were knowlegeable and so responsing re the Camino, the history and the culture of the area. Kudos!

This was the best Road Scholar trip I've done. I agree that this was more challenging than other level 5 hiking trips I've done in the US, and the general pace was fast, but we could go at our own speed and I never felt rushed to keep up. The balance of hiking, visiting sites, time in the bus between cities, meals and free time was just about perfect. Nacho and Pedro Juan were the best organized and most knowledgeable guides I've ever had in a trip, and I felt completely safe and secure with Luis in command of the bus. There were many surprises and special moments, and I feel I got a real sense of the Camino and of the countryside, towns and culture of northern Spain.

While a bit more strenuous than I expected, I appreciated being stretched to exceed my own beliefs about my capacity. The trip was exhilarating! Nacho was marvelously informative. Pedro Juan provided hilarious support. And, Luis kept us safely on the road.

This trip also exceeded my expectations. Nacho, Pedro Juan and Luis each made this trip to a gorgeous and interesting part of the world even more special. This is an all time favorite of my Road Scholar trips. I highly recommend it.

We are on day 10 and the trip has exceeded all expectations. As a woman travelling alone I was apprehensive. Our guides; Nacho and Pedro Juan are superb (as is our driver Luis). Their knowledge of the area is exhaustive. The meals have been just outstanding; each one more memorable than the last. The hikes are challenging but well paced. The scenery spectacular and varied each day. There are just not enough superlatives for this trip. I will be sad to see Santiago as it will mean the end of a powerful experience. Angelique from Austin TX May 2012
