I came with my father who needed to borrow a wheelchair because of his mobility challenges. I can't say enough about the kindness and helpfulness of Cindy, who took care of local arrangements, and also of the choral director, Mary Lu, in accommodating my father's needs. He and I had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the dynamic singing, the fellowship with talented and interesting music lovers, and also the beautiful and peaceful location of this program. We hope to come again!

Come to the music! Clap your hands! Celebrate! These words come quickly to mind as I recall the wonderful experience of "Singin' In the Sun". Thankyou to all the organizers, instructors and new friends who made it such a memorable week.

I have returned to this program every year for more than ten years! Each year I learn how to improve my skills in choral singing through the exceptional talents of Mary Lu Norris. She makes hard work fun! Each year I greet old friends and meet new ones from across the US and Canada. Each year when I am tired of winter, I welcome the beginning of spring in this lovely place. I will be back next year!

A great way to improve your vocal techniques, learn new material under the direction of a very capable director. The participants are friendly and diverse. All this in a beautiful setting on St. Simons Island, GA.

This is a fantastic and challenging week of choral singing, fun, friendship and it all happens on the beautiful grounds of Epworth by the Sea. Mary Lu Norris is a superb director and Cindy D. is a master of organization and good humour. I highly recommend this program if you love to sing and have a laugh along the way. The field trip to Jekyll Island was also very entertaining. All in all a program of great value and one that creates lasting memories and friendships.

I recommend this choral workshop to anyone who loves to sing in a group. We had plenty of rehearsal time and the concert was a smash hit -- the 200+ people attending the performance gave us a standing ovation. Our conductor really knows her stuff and ensured that we sang to the best of our ability. We had all levels of singers in our group. Everyone was friendly and enthusiastic. The conference grounds are lovely -- it was a beautiful setting for a perfect week!

I thought I already posted my review, but I never saw it (probably due to the technological pitifulness of the poster)so if this is a duplicate, I apologize. As I was singing "Beautiful Savior" in my church choir yesterday, I still had "The Ground"; "On my own"; "Hallelujah" etc. whirling around in my head and heart and probably will for a long time to come. Last week was extraordinary! A group of really nice people who love to sing as much as I do; an unbelievably talented and energetic director; a fabulous accompanist, who just happened to have a fabulously talented singing wife; a very calm, sweet, organized program director who made sure everything went smoothly. Blessed am I for being part of "Singing in the Sun" P.S. Also loved being at Epworth....Thanks to all...Sally Rhoden Marietta, GA

Lovely site, beautiful, historic site, wonderful choices of music, and a very, very knowledgeable Director. Fun field trip. Good food. What more to ask

Claudia from Newtown, CT Number of programs attended: 2

We had an experienced and talented group of singers. I am a newer adult singer and found the program challenging in a positive way. The director, Mary Lu, is an incredibly accomplished and talented musician and conductor. I learned so much. Really, I grew by leaps and bounds. We worked hard and the resulting performance [packed house and standing ovation wow!] was very satisfying. The setting is lovely and so nice to get a break from my Yankee winter in March.

"Singing in the Sun" was a wonderful experience. Anyone who loves to sing and enjoys the challenge of learning vocal techniques, new music and meeting new music loving people should attend. I've attended this one for 12 years with more to follow.

A group of very friendly and considerate singers, with significantly different skills, work hard over four days/nine rehearsals to present a concert of popular and classical pieces, with modest instrumental orchestrations. Great location with little pressure to be "professional" sounding; fulfilling for those who really care for music, "Halleluia!"

William from Gainesville, TX Number of programs attended: 1

If you love to sing, this program is for you. The choral director is superb, the accommodations are wonderful, and the fellow participants are warm and friendly. I was worried that I could master the material, but at the end of the week I felt confident to participate in a sterling performance for a large and appreciative audience.

What could be better than making beautiful music in a lovely setting with a gifted and skillful director and interesting, talented companions? That is the program that Mary Lu Norris and Cindy Duering put together at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island, GA. It is an amazing week of learning, hard work, and fun! I have attended for over ten years and I am looking forward to next March.

The choral music program at Epworth by the Sea, St. Simons Island, Georgia, under the direction of Mary Lu Norris, is a wonderful experience for persons who love choral singing, regardless of their level of expertise or training. This was my first Road Scholar program and my first time to meet Ms. Norris, but I hope to return again next year and have another great time learning and performing quality music. This is not to be missed!

There is nothing more uplifting than participating in a musical workshop where you get to sing to your heart's content for five full days. I call this "Music Camp for adults." You will make great new friends and have to opportunity to sing with one of the finest choral directors in the USA, Mary Lou Norris. Come join us at beautiful Epworth by the Sea in March 2014.

The instructor Mary Lu Norris is unbelievably talented as a musician and teacher and coach. Cindy Doehring coordinator is delightful and efficient and amazingly accommodating to needs of the group. I look forward to attending every year: My two singing groups at home and I benefit greatly from the exciting learning experience.
