A beautiful resort was a lovely setting for a very informative class. Our instructor, Lee, shared a wealth of information about the history of the Cherokee. He certainly knew his topic and is a talented musician. The bus trips to the museums, Appalachian Trail, and train ride were all lots of fun.

This program more than lived up to my expectations. Hiking on the Appalachian Trail, listening to Lee sing, the train ride from Bryson City were all great. The accommodations were in a beautiful setting with helpful people at the resort. Of course the fact that the weather was sunny made everything perfect!

Perfect time of the year to go and experience the Smokey Mountains "hands free"!

I chose this program for my family to celebrate two birthdays in particular and for a family get together. We ranged in age from 13 to 80. Therefore, I wanted something that would be attractive to all and meet the physical needs, wants, desires and restrictions of all, too. Give folks an opportunity to opt out of any particular activity if he/she so desired. I myself want a learing, interactive experience. It pretty much fulfilled that goal, too. All in all - it is a good intergenerational experience.

The area of Georgia is lovely, learning about the Cherokees was fascinating, the train ride gave us another glimpse of the area, the big plus was hearing wonderful folk music played and sung by Lee Knight.

This is my second Road Scholar experience. My feedback for the Great Smokey Mountains was sent successfully on the first time to you. Previously, about two weeks ago, I was not successful submitting my first evaluation for my trip to the Georgia Barrier Islands to you on a Sunday. It also was not saved to my account. Please check into why I did not transmit on a Sunday.

The Great Smoky Mountain Adventure was our first Road Scholar experience and easily exceeded our expectations. Our Lead Instructor/Guide, Lee Knight, is indeed a national treasure. He is knowledgeable, captivating, and intellectually honest. Lee has shaped my perspective on how I view things Appalachian! This is a bucket list "must!"

Ronye from Bend, OR Number of programs attended: 6

We selected the perfect program to enhance our understanding of an area of our wonderful country that is totally different from what we are familiar with in our area.

Thelma from Phoenix, AZ Number of programs attended: 2

The authentic atmosphere of the Appalachian experience shows through the instructors who LOVE sharing their perspective about this bit of early history. Thelma Rea
