EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Gail was the "best of the best". She was very proactive and really looked out for the group. As one of the youngest members of the group (53), I found I had so much more in common with this group than with others I've experienced outside Road Scholars. I met so many interesting people that I plan to stay in touch with. This was my first trip and I am very impressed. I highly recommend this tour as it gave a great overview of the city with a variety of activities and the right mix between lectures, tour and free time. The dinners were good but the lunches were outstanding! This was my first experience with Road Scholars and I hope to have many more.

This program provided a wonderful way to see some of Atlanta's highlights: the impressive The Atlanta History Museum and The Swan House included a lovely lunch at The Swan Coach House Restaurant, the beautiful GA Governor's Mansion (where we saw the First Edition of "Gone with the Wind"), the historic MLK Jr.'s Ebenezer Baptist Church, the beautiful Jimmy Carter Presidential Center was most impressive too, the trip to the High Museum of Art was too short, and our trip to CNN during March Madness was fun. We saw the Indiana Basketball team posing for a team shot in front of the huge NCAA bracket board on the main floor. The restaurants were varied all week and quite good; particularly fun was the dessert night at Dante's Down the Hatch. The most impressive speaker was Stephen Davis; he is a vexillologist (he collects historic flags of GA). He is very passionate about GA history and the Civil War, and anyone who left early the final morning missed an awesome speaker. This was our first Signature City program, and we will enroll in more in the future.

This (Atlanta Signature City) was absolutely one of the best Elderhostel programs I have been on.
