ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This program and guide were far beyond my expectations. I learned so much and am anxious for the next adventure.

Marvelous adventure. 5-star rating. Animals too numerous to count. Passionate guides at every stop. Visit to school, village, and orphanage opened eyes to the culture. September was a wonderful time to visit - animals frequented water sources in the dryness and bugs were few. Magical mornings in bush camp and wonderful days/nights on safari.

A wonderful set of experiences: the animals, the people, the landscape. We have memories that will stay with us forever.

Don't know howyou can top this! So many animals that it almost seemed staged: mock charge by an elephant, lions stalking a giraffe(it got away), hyenas fighting over a kill, baby baboon falling off mom's back, elephant and hippo on lawn of lodge, zebra, impala by the score and much, much more.

This adventure taken 9/13/13- 9/27/13 topped my bucket list. Seeing nature in full glory during day and night game drives, ALL of the "big 5" in abundance plus so many more species, amazing birds, several spottings of leopards when some trips see only a couple, a pride of lions feasting on a cape buffalo, the beauty of the land and people ..... All of this was more than I ever anticipated. Most important is that I felt completely SAFE at all times, even though I traveled from home alone. My group of 14 was a fun and enthusiastic group guided by a highly knowledable Lisa Reed. I haven't stopped talking about my experiences to my friends yet!

Susan from Indianapolis, IN Number of programs attended: 3

This was a fabulous trip!! We had surprises and adventures around every corner. We had a wonderful small group of 10, and our guide, Lisa Reed, was cheery, energetic, knowledgeable, funny, and just amazing. We saw an hours-old baby giraffe and its mother, crocodiles attacking a warthog, elephants swimming across a river, lions resting and lions eating hippos, gorgeous birds, towers of giraffe, dazzles of zebra and on and on! We enjoyed tea in the bush and we loved the practice of enjoying sundowners at the end of the day! The program was well run and the accommodations were excellent. The activity level was less than we expected. We walked very little, but it was necessary to climb in and out of safari vehicles!

Having been in Africa before, we know the unexpected can happen. This trip was our first in Southern Africa, and it was beyond expectation. The logistics were fabulous. The company was great. The guide was terrific.

If you love animals, if you crave adventure, if you want to stretch yourself -- this is a wonderful program! We did not find the activity level to be as strenuous as anticipated.

This is truly a trip of a lifetime. I cherish the memories and friends made on this exploration into Wild Africa. The sounds of the bush fill each night and awaken you each morning. Each day is filled with new discoveries and adventurous outings led by highly skilled, engaging and knowledgeable guides. Our lead guide's (Lisa Reed) enthusiasm for this land, its people and creatures infected us all.The accommodations and staff at each of the lodges immersed us in this unique environment while providing care and convenience. Some of the lodges were unexpectedly luxurious (Mfuwe Lodge has a spa!). I learned so much and left a piece of my heart in Africa.

This program was one of the best I've been on. We learned a lot and had great guides and drivers. I would recommend this program to others. Wish I could do it again.

I had a fantastic time on this trip. The leader and local guides were so interesting and knowledgeable. The food was great. Several special diets were accommodated at each location. The lodges were awesome. One had a private outdoor shower where you could watch hippos in the lagoon while showering. The wildlife viewing was the experience of a lifetime.

Seeing both a leopard and hyena close up on the last game drive of the last day was a great trip finale, unfortunately not one the organizers could plan.

My safari to Africa was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Now Africa is not just a shape on a map--it's wonderful memories of people, animals and birds, and scenery that I can call up in my mind's eye and enjoy them all over again.

Polly from Medford, OR Number of programs attended: 1

Africa is a must for everyone. The wonderful people, the natural beauty, the friendly hosts, the amazing landscape and animals. This should not be an option - it's a must do.

Forrest from Rochdale, MA Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 05/15/13 - 05/29/13
This program involved less physical activity than I had hoped for but was still excellent. The guides were very knowledgeable, the food was of very fine quality and, if anything, over the top in terms of quantity of food and number of 'snacks'. I hoped to see many animals, but during May the variety of animals and numbers of them exceeded my expectations. I did the extra activity of riding African elephants and was glad that I did, it was quite an experience. I was very happy with this May trip.

Ardith from Alameda, CA Number of programs attended: 2

Truly the trip of a lifetime for me. Seeing the animals so close at hand was very special, but even more special were the 100 or so bird species the guides helped me identify. And this wasn't even a bird trip!

Linda from Bluffton, SC Number of programs attended: 7

Everything was superb!! Just one of the standouts was Amazing Grace cooking like she did in her "kitchen" at our tented campsite. The whole experience was wonnnnnnderful!!

Alison from Lafayette, CA Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 05/01/13 - 05/15/13
This program is great - the itinerary, leader Andre Joubert, and on site leaders and guides were all excellent. All in all I would describe it as the experience of a life time, except that I may be tempted to repeat it!

Jean from Kilmarnock, VA Number of programs attended: 9
Date attended: 05/01/13 - 05/15/13
This was absolutely one of the best experiences I have had. The in country staff were just superb!

Mary from Saanichton, BC Number of programs attended: 6

This was an awesome program! It was a wonderful opportunity to see southern African animals up close without the hassle of booking flights, lodges, tours etc and to know that you would be safe at all times.
