The biking in this program was easier than I expected and the rides were some of the safest and most beautiful I have experienced anywhere in the world. Everyone involved in the program brings Southern Hospitality to a new level. The evening activities are very entertaining and you will come to appreciate the slower pace of this gorgeous Southern area. But it's the bicycle rides that will make you want to come back -as one visit is just not enough riding on the beautiful trails in this part of Virginia.

The 4H facility where we stayed took me back to a simpler, more genuine time. The campus is gorgeous. The Va Creeper Trail is all that I expected and more. I loved spending time outdoors and even enjoyed the two drizzly days. (You'll be fine if you bring the right clothes!) Every person involved in this program was key to making this an outstanding experience -- Kevin (friendly program coordinator), Henry (leader on the trail, keeping us safe), Joe (van driver, aka 'The Smiler' ), Louis (sweeper on the trail, making sure those at the back are okay), and the folks in the kitchen added so much personality, fun, and commitment to excellence. The attendees were delightful, and by the end of the program, we had bonded into a friendly group. The Va Creeper Trail should not be missed -- what a wonderful break from politics, cell phones, computers, and crowds. I also loved spending time in the woods in the fall while the leaves were changing. Gorgeous!
