Program #4827RJ
9 Days | 8 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

This program was the best I could ever think of, and I also think is was the BEST VALUE of any tour I have ever taken. The details were taken care of. Our leader, Claire, was one of the best I have ever had -- even on the VERY EXPENSIVE tours of Italy and Russia. There was so much for the grandchildren to do -- they could never be bored.... the assistants were great with the grandchildren AND the grandparents.... Jane Prince, grandmother of KYLE

The program offered myriad learning opportunities, especially for the grandchildren. The "young" assistants were a wonderful addition to the program staff, especially for the boys, who benefited from their knowledge, enthusiasm, and leadership.

Hawaii came alive for us and our grandson. Every day was a wonderful new adventure. Surfing, snorkeling, hiking up Diamond Head were just a few of the activities. The backyard luau at a private home was a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you Claire, Brandon and Adam ......you made this program the excellent experience it was.

This program was so much fun. We were busy learning wonderful new things about the Hawaiian culture and having fun snorkeling and surfing in the beautiful ocean. The program was planned to give us a taste of all things Hawaiian, food, dance, and ocean appreciation. the planetarium show at Bishop museum not to be missed

What a fabulous opportunity to try something new (snorkelling, surfing, and riding in a submarine) while learning about Hawaiian history and culture and ocean and reef life. Doing this all with my granddaughter made it even more special. Great leaders, interesting participants, pace of programming, and choice of activites all led to a memorable experience. Many thanks.

Our 11 and 13 year old grandsons enjoyed the program immensely. Their favorite activity was surfing. They had an opportunity for surfing lessons on 2 different days and they also rented a surf board on a free afternoon - only $10. They liked the submarine ride, pool time in Kona and some of the snorkeling. Their least favorite activity was The Bishop Museum. It was interesting enough, but too much time was allowed there - even for the grandparents. Our leaders did a good job and were kept busy when "Flossie" headed for Hawaii. Our last catamaran snorkel trip and private residence luau had to be cancelled, but they arranged for a different luau.

The Hawaiian Water Adventure: An Intergenerational Marine Exploration program that we participated in was a wonderful trip where we learned a great deal about Hawaii's Marine life as well as about Hawaiian Culture through a diverse array of activities that were great fun for both grandparents and grandchildren alike. This was my first Road Scholar program and I have to say, it made for the best vacation I have experienced in my life! You can be sure that I will attend more Road Scholar programs, both for adults as well as family and inter-generational programs!
