Fun way to see in the New Year! Though we missed attending the Atlanta Symphony due to a strike, the substitute activity was even more festive, strolling the Atlanta Botanical Garden amid twinkling holiday lights, with carolers and a miniature train display providing music and animation. And attending the Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker in the historic Fox Theatre was a holiday treat beyond compare. We stayed in a smart business hotel in the upscale Buckhead district, ideally located for exploring the surrounding shopping and dining venues during our one free time. The four day program was packed with touring and history lessons from the Civil War to the Civil Rights eras. And the High Museum of Art did not disappoint where we found a magnificent special exhibit of Cézanne. A day spent in nearby Roswell allowed us to see two antebellum houses decked out in holiday finery of a bygone era. A fabulous way to see Atlanta and its heritage at its very best!

We very much enjoyed all aspects of the Atlanta for New Year's Eve program, but our favorite part was the Atlanta Botanical Gardens all lit up. The food was excellent and we were very impressed with the friendliness of the people of Atlanta. Sherrill and Sue were wonderful, caring leaders!

What a wonderful way for someone who has never been to Atlanta to be introduced to the city! Excellent lectures on a variety of subjects by local folks, and several well-chosen field trips. Trixie Meteyer, Rochester, NY

Southern hospitality is still alive and in full swing in Atlanta. Sherrill , Sue and Gale made our trip a most enjoyable experience. Our history professor was excellent. Two presentations as well as a tour of the Civil War exhibit at the Atlanta History Center was so informative ...I especially liked the lunch at the Fickle Pickle, learning about Margaret Mitchell, seeing the glorious Christmas lights at the Botanical Gardens and to top it off a fabulous Atlanta Symphony concert with the music and lyrics of George and Ira Gershwin on New Years Eve. I have never been disappointed with a Road Scholar trip and this is no exception. Thanks to all.

A delightful program! For us Yankees, our stay in Atlanta was warm, entertaining, enlightening and full of laughter! Sherrill, Susan and Gale are three Georgia peaches who made all of this happen. Thank you!
