This is a very comprehensive look at San Diego. I learned so much about this beautiful city re its history as well as its passion to plan for the future. This tour was well worth the time and money spent. The experience was delightful from beginning to end.

The San Diego State University Road Scholar trip is a gem. Kathy Weissinger is an effective and organized group leader. The instructors were all great. Salvador Torres is one of the finest human beings you will ever encounter. His tour of Chicano Park leaves you speechless. In his tour of Little Italy, Anthony Davi is as entertaining as he is informative. Having our own personal guide at the zoo was quite a treat and having Ken Catlin join us for dinner and help us at the zoo was special. Ending the week with a program put on by SDSU’s Executive Chefs was an absolute bonus. Moreover, we met some great fellow travelers. This was our fifth Road Scholar program and we are batting five for five in the outstanding category. If you are traveling from the East coast or Midwest, plan to spend some extra days in San Diego following the program. Return to Little Italy and have dinner at Filippi’s. And, take public transportation (easy to master) back to Balboa Park to visit the museums. This park is a treasure.

This program offers great information about San Diego. Perfect for the first-time visitor like me. Each day is jam-packed with lectures and activities with little free time on your own except at the venues. Food at the hotel was good, room was fine. Leader was detail-oriented and hand-outs were numerous.

I would highly recommend this program. The leaders were a delight. Very knowledgeable and wanted us all to have fun. The program was well organized and informative about the things of interest in the area. The speakers were the best, knowledgeable and capable and talented. Last but not least was the fabulous accommodations at Courtyard Marriott Mission Valley. Staying at this Hotel really added to the comfort, fun and enjoyment of the program. I would like to do this program again.

This program is a must for both Californians and folks from around the country. There's no better way to experience San Diego than with Road Scholar. The educational and field experiences are both informative and fun. This is a must on everyone's to-do list!

While this program provides the highlights in San Diego, it was the leadership and the social's that made the trip great! Kathy and the supporting staff were the best. Meals at the hotel were better than I had come to expect/experienced I'm my past trips. Good job Road Scholar!

It was a nice introduction to different areas of San Diego. The hotel was on a very busy street with little or no walkability. The activities followed the descriptions in the brochure.

This program is an interesting introduction to the San Diego area if one hasn't seen it before, and always nice to revisit if one has. I especially like going to the Hotel del Coronado for its history and picturesqueness, and to the San Diego Zoo, for the animals and people. The convenience of seeing a variety of animals of and having a nice lunch or snack is revitalizing!

This trip provides a wonderful overview of some of the highlights of San Diego. Our group leaders and local guides/instructors were most professional and I learned so much about the area. The listening devices made the commentary throughout the trip audible to all. Our group got along very well and we had a wonderful time sharing experiences and prior travel experiences. I highly recommend this trip. It is in a beautiful part of CA and the weather was gorgeous the whole time!

This is a great overview of the San Diego area - exactly what I have come to expect from a "signature cities" program. I find them a great way to become familiar with a city that is new to me.
