This was my first Road Scholar program which I enjoyed very much. The Royal Sonesta Hotel was gorgeous and the music in the on site jazz club was terrific. The speakers were entertaining and very knowledgeable and the excursions were interesting. The restaurants were outstanding, particularly Commanders. Joyce, our coordinator, was a warm and engaging woman. As the only Canadian in the group, I hope that Road Scholar will start to promote their wonderful programs north of the border!

By far the BEST program on New Orleans for the money. Superb care and feeding of guests. Excellent lectures, field trips. I used to live in New Orleans and this is my 2nd Road Scholar visit and I STILL learned new things about my favorite City/State.

There is nothing lean about New Orleans. It will fill up your senses. I had the best time of my life!

This was one of the best programs we have attended. It was a fantastic week. We are looking forward to more programs. It is a great way to go. You are well taken care of and it is very educational.

This first time visit to New Orleans far exceeded my expectations. The instructors and field trips were excellent and my fellow participants were interesting, congenial people. Even the weather cooperated in making this a great trip.

This program was probably the beat of the six we have been involved in. This is a high commendation because we thought three of the other programs were outstanding and we were only disappointed with one. New Orleans is a fascinating city and the well organized and interesting program truly made the trip special.

I keep taking the NOLA program over and over. Always something new and the hotel and meals are A-one.

What a great trip. Five star in my book. Different restaurants to try the cajun experience. And the best part is you pick right off the menue. Great field trip experience. And the travel group was also awesome. If you have ever thought about coming to New Orleans I would encourage you to DO so. Karen

Another great RS NOLA program. I took the "other" program last year and came back this year for this one. While some of the lectures and field trips were duplicates, they were still enjoyable the second time around. RS gets great people to share their knowledge w/us. I especially liked The Golden Feather Mardi Gras Indian restaurant where we had a simple but delicious lunch followed by a very interesting lecture on the history, customs, and celebrations of the Mardi Gras Indians. I was truly clueless about them and appreciated hearing about another unique aspect of NOLA. RS went the extra mile and arranged for quiet rooms at The Royal Sonesta Hotel. It is in a great location in the French Quarter but the area gets very noisy. My room overlooked the courtyard so I had no problems nor did I hear complaints from anyone in the group. Overall, this is a five star program w/meal opportunities to die for, great field trips and lectures, and very good accommodations. Go for it!

The trip was one of the best Elderhostel/Road Scholar trips we have taken. The speakers were outstanding with interesting topics covered that were pertinent to our field trips. The cooking class was a lot of fun, and the food was some of the best we had on the trip. More importantly, we learned some new things, changed our viewpoints on some others and generally enjoyed the experiences along the way. Our fellow travelers were quite compatible and all got along well as a group. The group leader was conscientious, organized and a very warm and friendly person. A good place to go for a meal on your own was Acme Oyster House where we had charbroiled oysters to die for! A pitcher of beer goes quite nicely with them.
