This was an absolutely marvelous Road Scholar experience! It had been 52 years since I traveled by train, and it was an experience that no one should miss. All our hotels were very comfortable with excellent guest service and ideal locations for visiting around the cities. It was nice to have enough free time to see places or attend plays on our own. The pace was just right, and we never felt hurried. The planned activities gave us a good overview of some of the major features of each city and gave us the opportunity to really learn something about the cities. They were all extremely interesting.
Diane made us all feel that we were part of a cohesive group, and we made several new friends. We've taken several travel-agent led tours as part of our U.W. Green Bay Learning in Retirement program, and Diane was as good as they come. She not only plans things meticulous, she quickly solves any problems that arise. And she is FUN to be with. We can hardly wait until we can take one of her Road Scholar trips on the Mississippi.

What a great trip, with our tour director Diane Van Wyngarden covering all the details beautifully. Free time was integrated into an otherwise full schedule of interesting sights in the three cities. Loved it!
