I loved going to Angkor Wat and Borobudur. The bas reliefs were fantastic and well worth the entire trip.

It was a most satisfying trip, although a bit of a whirlwind way to explore Southeast Asia. We were fortunate to have an excellent and experienced group leader, whose knowledge and genuine excitement for travel enhanced our experience. Some parts of the trip are more arduous than might be anticipated... Endurance and patience are necessary.

My advice: Take lots and lots of USD, especially $5 and $1. Most purchases are at roadside stalls or from hawkers. Credit cards are not useful(with few exceptions). Get $15-20 local currency in Bali, Java and Singapore, useful for incidentals, but in Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand they all want USD. For visiting temples "long pants" means below the knee (capris ok), but to visit the Grand Palace in Bangkok pants must be to the ankle. Covered shoulders means just that, so a short sleeved tee shirt is fine. Many temples require removal of shoes so best to wear slip-ons, and socks for cleanliness. You don't need bug spray (mosquitos are not active during the day) or malarial pills. Take a walking sticking to help you go up high steps at Borodudur and Ankor Wat. It was a wonderful trip. I would highly recommend.

This is a fantastic way to see six Southeast Asia locations on one trip.if this is on your bucket list do it sooner than later, as it is a long flight from the states. You combine sea time and land adventures, which is a nice variety. Alex was a wonderful group leader that made it a interesting experience for our group of 19.
