I felt that this extension was an overpriced waste of
time. Of the four days on the extension, two were
spent just travelling to and from Etosha and Windhoek
on a very boring 6-hour drive each way.
Just about every animal seen at Etosha was seen later
on during the main tour in Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
We were in Etosha in the wet season and saw few animals.
People kept saying "You should see all the animals that
are here in the dry season". At a waterhole we saw
one gazelle. Then they showed us a picture of hundreds
of animals there during the dry season.
The only think I liked was seeing Windhoek and learning
something about the history and culture of Namibia.
We had a great guide, but he had little to work with.
The lodge in Etosha had a terrific bar decorated like
a township tavern, and that was a great place to drink
and wish I had not come on this extension at its very
high per-day cost.

This extension is a truly memorable experience. Our guide could not have done a better job. This program provides insight into the colonial aspects of Namibian history as well as an opportunity to experience the animal life in its natural habitat. I highly recommend it.
