I chose this program because of the Kerr Conference Center and was massively disappointed when they told us there had been a plumbing problem and the program was moved to a motel in Poteau. Why didn't they call and let me rebook? Because they are stinking incompetent.
The accommodations were wretched. My room at the Biltmore had nowhere to sit other than a straight back chair. The motel in Poteau was almost as bad and we were stuck there for two days. If you book this tour, consider getting separate accommodations. It's that bad. Good meals at the Cowboy Museum, fake Amish farm, and western steakhouse. In Poteau they bused us over to the Junior College cafeteria for some really bad catering. Lucky there's a Sonic next to the motel.
The program is pretty good but skimpy. Nothing at all on Sunday, Thursday night, or Friday so this really not even a 4 day course. Much dead time traveling around. Instructor did not add much -- one time she read out of a guidebook. Lots of problems with media. However, we did stay on schedule.
The best program segment was the visit to the Will Rogers Museum, where the lecture was given in his persona. The worst was the "lecture" on Native American Art, which amounted to a show and tell (with everything on sale). Overall, a good taste of Oklahoma.
