This program is suitable for those who are active, in good health, who know how to snorkel, and who have a flexible and adventurous spirit. Warm temperatures, daily rainfall, and flights during the middle of the night should be expected. Hotels are clean, but modest. In Palau for 7 days, I enjoyed seeing the Rock Islands (a World Heritage Site), snorkeling Jellyfish Lake and the Big Drop Off. Beach picnics were nice, particularly beautiful Lee Marvin Beach. Of high cultural interest was our jungle climb to the stone money quarry, a tour of a village men's house, and a village feast. In Yap for 3 days, I enjoyed the cultural activities, particularly meeting a 75 year old village chief and attending a traditional village bamboo dance. The stone money banks and the ancient stone pathways are what makes Yap unique. I enjoyed the walk through the jungle to see the WWII wreck of a Japanese bomber. I would recommend this trip to those who enjoy snorkeling but who are also very interested in the incredible geography and unique culture of Palau and Yap.
