Wonderfully interesting guides, and such a pretty area of the country to explore! We got to watch the bachelor elephant seals trying to get close to the females, and invariably being chased off by the harem master. An elephant seal was born while we were watching, 30 feet away.
Loved the long clusters of hundreds of overwintering monarch butterflies.

Four Great Animal Migrations Converge is my first Road Scholar experience, and I loved it! I had no idea elephant seals could be so fascinating and funny! I learned new things about butterflies and birds, and I am now addicted to whale watches. If you love nature, you will love this week on the southern California coast. I came away with a refreshed and energized spirit, ready to travel again soon. Thanks, Road Scholar, for helping me fulfill a dream.

'Great Migrations'is an understatement for the travels of these animals. A tremendous learning experience. I'll never look at a bird or butterfly the same. Shannon was a great leader and worked well with our small but diverse group. Instructors were well versed in their fields and brought their subjects to life - literally in the field!
