I thought I had already sent comments. Very disappointed that, although the program was BASED in Camden, ME, it was not really ABOUT Camden. Problem, apparently, between Road Scholar schedule (e.g., Wed afternoon free) and the City contacts (?"tour guides?") who would be the people to give the presentation.
Our leader was good, but most of the trips were by buses out of town. Food OK, but several times it was probably the "cheapest" option within a specific budget. Housing was GREAT - good location/convenient, pleasant . . .
Road Scholar's response:
Thank you for your feedback, Coralie. We’re glad you joined our program, Exploring Maine’s Link to the Sea. Maine’s maritime history is rich and is present in many seaside communities. Because of its geographic range, we traverse many villages in order to understand fully Maine’s maritime significance. We learn from the locals of each community who share stories and history that connect each coastal town. Dining in restaurants that serve as gathering spots in the towns offers a place to learn even more about the charm and the people of Maine. Camden is a wonderful base for our program because its culture is much like many of the places we visit and sparks our interest to explore the differences and similarities throughout the communities of Maine.
