I loved this trip. I thought the scenery was spectacular. There was lots of hiking. We didn't have a professional guide but that has been taken care of for future trips apparently. The people were loving and welcoming. The food was simple and abundant. I would recommend this trip. We saw lots of whales and puffins and flowers galore.

The guide and scenery were awesome. The hiking was not as challenging as I expected, but due to weather, that was OK! The first hand explanation of history, geology, fisheries collapse, and re-settlement were very meaningful

The Newfoundland coast is spectacular and varied. We saw humpback whales and lots of puffins, learned a lot about the geology and history of the island. The hiking was less demanding than we expected, in part because of rainy weather that curtailed some of our walks, but it was still special. The guide from the Coaker Foundation was great: knowledgeable, enthusiastic and attentive to our needs.

Excellent hikes with interesting scenery. The top difficulty rating overstates the situation we faced. The weather is quite changeable at any time so plan on layers of clothing to handle rain and wind. The people were great, both the group and the local people.

Newfoundland is a beautiful province to visit, and hiking provided the perfect opportunity to meet the local people, enjoy the wonderful scenery and wildlife and get a better understanding of the pleasures and hardships of living by the sea. John, Don and Neville, like true Newfoundlanders, were our knowledgeable guides and mentors in this outstanding program. A definite 5 star rating!
