Wonderfully exhausting. We hit peak color and summer temps our first week. This was my first RS trip and am very impressed and looking forward to another. Our valiant leaders were always on hand to help and I am amazed at the talent and skills of the other participants. This was very inspiring, forcing me to work harder.

Wonderful Program. The Treehaven campus of UWSP is a beautiful 1400 acres in WI with walking trails, water, woods and comfortable accommodations. Plenty of field trips taking us to see and photograph the beautiful state of WI at the perfect time of the year. This has been the best Road Scholar program I've experienced and I look forward to coming again. Great bang for your buck!

This was my first Roads Scholar program, and I'm afraid it has set the bar very high for any others I might enroll in. The workshop was 10 days of activities with the weekend free. With hands-on instruction by knowledgeable, accessible, and personable instructors, comfortable (though basic) accommodations and excellent food with lots of choices at every meal, it was an unbelievable value. All of the group participants were experienced photographers, but I think everyone came away feeling he or she had learned something. As one of the less experienced members, I was encouraged and treated with patience and respect. My outdoor photography and photoshop skills were greatly improved. I liked the structure of the program. It was a combination of half- and full-day field trips where everyone was able to go off on their own and pursue individual interests. There was free time most days for editing our work. The group was great--friendly smart people, no drama. There were just a few things that could have been improved: --getting in and out of the van was difficult for some folks and I wished there had been a more accessible mode of transportation for them; --the evening lecture and critique sessions ended by 8pm and after that there wasn't much to do but head back to our rooms. It would have been nice to have had some optional activities; --while the food was delicious and the kitchen staff could not have been nicer and more responsive (they even made me a cake for my birthday), they didn't make very good coffee. Improving on that would make the food service perfect.

A variety of scenes to shoot (scenics, macro, short telephoto of woods, lakes, streams, color, critters, 'shrooms, berries, and bogs--specially the waterfalls and dells. Great company of repeat photographers. Would be remiss if I did not mention the food and accommodations and hosts.
