My husband and I brought our 8 year old grandson to the zooventure. He loves animals and we thought this trip would please him. It exceeded our expectations on every level. The leaders were professional, warm and engaging. The educator at the zoo made every child feel engaged and important. My grandson gave up a week of day camp to go on this trip, and he told us that he was so very glad he did. He thanked us for taking him, and told us he will remember this trip forever. I will make sure he does because I am making a book with all the photos we took!

My 10 year old granddaughter, Aileen, and I returned from our Zooventure last night and want to tell everyone what a "grand" experience it was for grandparents and grandchildren. Wilson Lodge at Oglebay Resort was very, very nice. Buffet breakfasts were wonderful. Lunches and dinners, served at the zoo meeting room or the Lodge meeting room, were both child and grandparent friendly.
The program content was excellent. A lot of hands on experience. The children made treats which were then fed to the animals.
The zoo staff, Christian, Theresa, Tabitha and Arianne, were friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to make us comfortable in all ways. A golf cart, driven by one of the above, was always available during program for those of us with walking issues.
The day of free time went all too quickly with many options available, including a glass blowing demonstration and the opportunity for the children to paint pottery which they took home with them.
Aileen said she wants to return next summer. When asked what was her favorite thing, her response was "everything"! As for me, I would definitely recommend this program and would return to it with Aileen or another grandchild.
