Catherine and Bill were great trip leaders. The program was well run, informative, and we covered almost all of the park. While cold,we had the park to ourselves in all it's grandeur.

This trip was an amazing tour through a beautiful winter wonderland filled with geysers, hot springs, and wildlife. I am not a snow person, and I had a wonderful time.

A snow coach view of a magnificent elk just ~10 feet away was just one of the wonders of this trip. Great leaders, lots of snow, wonderful accommodations, terrific food and super "scholars". One of the best we've attended.

OUTSTANDING! While the changeable weather in Yellowstone can prompt changes in the itinerary, nothing can diminish the awe of wintry days there. Cathy and Bill Cain's knowledgeable narratives truly enrich the outing! Herb, Vienna, VA participant)

This program more that met my expectations. Yellowstone in winter is a site to behold...the geysers and pools spit and steam...the wildlife impress you with their will to survive. The leaders and guides were very knowledgeable and accommodating. Being able to brag that you traversed the snowy roads in Yellowstone in winter via snowcoach is the ultimate!

Great program. HOWEVER, find another way to travel from Bozeman to Mammoth Hot Springs and back. Greater Valley Taxies runs with cracked windshields and missing wiper blades. The NPS has recent established a bus service.

Very beautiful tour with a good chance of wonderful animal sightings. Leaders very knowledgable about the area. Be ready to take advantage of every opportunity to do more since many stops will have abbreviated exposure to the wonderful thermal and other features at that area. When possible, do more! Outstanding hotels and wonderful meals. Take the suggestions about dressing for the cold and snow and ice seriously. Seek out other modes of travel from Bozeman to Mammoth Hot Springs since the taxi service now listed by Road Scholar is probably the worst choice.

This trip was truly magical! Reasonably price, quality accommodations, friendly service, and excellent food. Spotting so much wildlife and thermal activity with the help of knowledgeable guides was exciting. Would not change a thing!

Yellowstone was wonderful. One cannot predict how many different animals one will see but our group lucked out: bison, wolves, swans, elk, eagles. Wear layered clothing to keep warm. Ice cleats are a must! Your own earbuds are a good suggestion. Road Scholars travelers are a good group of people from varied backgrounds and meeting them is a pleasure.

I had a long held desire to visit Yellowstone in winter. This program exceeded my expectations, and it was a great value. We had also considered joining other week-long programs centered on New Year’s Eve in Yellowstone, but they all cost twice what the Road Scholar program cost, with no substantive difference in program or accommodations. I am ready to go again!

Yellowstone was beautiful in the winter - I would definitely go again! Make sure you have ice cleats for your boots, a scarf for your face & your own ear buds. The whispers are wonderful & you can hear easily but the ear piece is uncomfortable for someone who wears glasses. Too many things behind the ear - not enough room.
