The tour of northern new Mexico was great! I wear a leg brace and was concerned I might miss out on some of the activities. Not so! The activity level was just right and I enjoyed every sight.

The opportunity to view and visit another culture certainly enhances our learning about other cultures in the U.S. This trip offers people the opportunity to increase their understanding about our native American people (First People) and the impact they have on the history of our country.

Great way to experience special cities in NEW MEXICO. Having the HOT AIR BALLOON FESTIVAL included was an extra plus.

Stan from Columbia, SC Number of programs attended: 1

This tour provided exactly what the promotional materials promised. Mark was a wonderful guide, providing excellent commentary and stories, and all the sites we visited opened my eyes to new knowledge. The planning and execution of the trip made for a great experience. I'd recommend the trip to anyone with no physical handicaps.

I was not very happy with this program. There were no activities planned for the evenings and our tour guide made no suggestions as to how we might be able to entertain ourselves after dinner. Our tour guide also did not explain anything about the cities themselves to us. Some folks asked questions, but if not for that, we would know nothing about Albuquerque. Each of our lunches took about 2 hours. The restaurants seemed unprepared to handle our group of over 30. We ordered and then would wait well over an hour for our food. At times some participants had not gotten their food yet and our tour guide was calling us onto the bus--terrible. There was so much time wasted at meals waiting for service that we had very little time to actually explore any of these cities. We had an hour on our own in each one--that's just not enough time. On the good side, the trips to Taos Pueblo, Acoma Pueblo and the town of Madrid were interesting and worthwhile.

I had looked forward to this program and it fulfilled all my expectations. I read some of the books prior and they were very interesting, but I don't think they affected my enjoyment. The congenial group of people, however, did enhance my enjoyment of each activity. Leader Mark was great!

This was my first Road Scholar tour and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Our leader, Mark, was personable and attentive and the presentations enriching. There was a very comfortable mix of program time and free exploring time allowing for a very relaxing and fun vacation

Cynthia from Sheffield Lake, OH Number of programs attended: 14

Great program; fast-paced overview of the highlights, which makes me want to return to New Mexico. Well-organized. Our group leader, Lisa, did a great job, particularly keeping us well-hydrated (which is critical in the arid, high-altitudes). In spare time at the Taos Plaza, recommend that you visit the Kit Carson Home & Museum. It wasn't mentioned in the RS materials, but is only a block away from the Plaza and was very intereting.

This was our first Road Scalar tour (our first long tour of any kind) and my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We are already thinking about another tour.

Beverly from Fountain Vly, CA Number of programs attended: 6

I had never been to the southwest territory, and frankly did not know what to expect. I was thrilled and delighted with the program of Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Taos. There was so much to see and learn from each location.

Candice from Oceanside, NY Number of programs attended: 1

This program would appeal to participants who are interested in the history and culture of America's West, who enjoy exquisite landscape and who have appreciation for many forms of American artwork.

Carl from New Britain, CT Number of programs attended: 7

A very enlightening and worthwhile experience. I recommend this program to anyone interested in visiting New Mexico and learning about the Native American population and it's culture. It met everyone of expectations.

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our introduction to this style of educational travel. The deep and varied culture and beautiful landscape of northern New Mexico makes every day on this trip an adventure. We particularly enjoyed traveling with two sets of old friends -- it's a wonderful way to spend time with old friends and make new ones!

An excellent experience for Puebloan culture. The food is great and varied. Time to explore on your own as well as guided tours. A great experience and one to be enjoyed.

Elizabeth from Sedona, AZ Number of programs attended: 1

I learned a lot about New Mexico and the pueblo native Americans. Our leader, Mark, was very knowledgable and shared a lot of information as we rode on the bus as well as in his well organized lectures. The guest speakers were interesting. Ron Roybal's demo about the dance steps and dress that we would see at the Pow Wow of the Nations really helped appreciate and better understand our time at the Pow Wow. However, in the future, this program should have participants go to the first day of the Pow Wow to see the adult competitions. Visiting the pueblos was a highlight for me.
