Chautauqua is a movement, a place. Enjoyed experiencing it. Would be better if we'd stayed in the hotel as promised. Food very good. Enjoyed the variety of lectures. 80 is too many participants. Excellent leaders. I may attend a summer session.

Come with an open mind, an inclusive attitude toward meeting new people, and an ability to experience various topics that you yourself may know a lot about, but you are willing to learn anew from others.

Beautiful location......do NOT go in the off season as 90% of shops, etc. are closed. Also make sure hotel is in use, we did NOT get to stay there due to "construction".Housing was a dorm and awful. As always, attendees were great, informed and inclusive. Some speakers gave "canned" presentations and would not address hot topics of the day in their subject such as Cuba/Castro future, presidential debate in political speech, etc. Disappointing.

Helen from Oro Valley, AZ Number of programs attended: 5

Set on the banks of beautiful Chautauqua Lake, this most interesting and rewarding program explores the history of the Chautauqua Institute, presents current and historical issues and gives participants an opportunity to meet people with similar interests. Accommodations and meals are excellent and the environment is a visual feast!

Perfect first time adventure with Road Scholar. Everyone was friendly, informed and easy to know. Can't wait for my next trip!

I enjoyed the beauty of the setting and hotel, and the feeling that we were well taken care of. I especially liked the historical lectures and felt the speakers were knowledgeable and interesting.

Ditto on all the good comments. Planning to return next year for 2 or 3 weeks, especially if there are back-to-back RS programs.

Keep your brain active by learning new things in a beautiful setting.

Melvin from Kenmore, NY Number of programs attended: 3
Date attended: 09/07/14 - 09/12/14
The accomodations, meals, speakers, leaders and most venues on the Chatauqua tour were exceptional. I recommend it to anyone interested in the educational camp movements of the late nineteenth and early 20th. century of which the Chatauqua Institute was the prime example.

Earl from Lyndhurst, OH Number of programs attended: 2
Date attended: 05/18/14 - 05/23/14
We had a fine time, much better than advertised. The fact that the program was held prior to the Chautauqua season allowed us to experience the venue in a more relaxed manner.

Nancy from Burlington, ON Number of programs attended: 2
Date attended: 09/22/13 - 09/27/13
The Chautauqua experience is delightful. Lovely venue, interesting people, lectures that make you think and are sometimes inspirational and being well taken care of at the hotel with accommodation and meals.
