Chito educated, entertained, organized. Ronald kept us safe on the roads and helped with the logistics. Monica shared her knowledge and experience as she instructed the group in photography. She was supportive of all and dealt equally with all participants. Outstanding educator. I like the 3-3 format rather than the 2-2-2-2 as in the past.

This was my 5th RS Photo Shoot and by far the best. Monica was thorough and the lectures were in touch with the shoots themselves. She was sensitive to the needs of all the participants. Gilbert was a great Naturalist and quite personable and able to make special arrangements where needed. Ronald was the driver of the year, knowing where he was going on all those winding roads, helpful as well.

Karen from Atlanta, GA Number of programs attended: 6

This program is outstanding. Our tour allowed us exceptional opportunities for nature photography. The group leaders were gracious, welcoming, and fun. Monica is a gem. She explained photographic techniques clearly and was always nearby to help out with any questions we had and encouraged us to "click, click, click" when a particularly great photo opportunity presented itself. Gilbert (Chito) was a delight--charming, cheerful, with a zest for life that added to his vast knowledge about the flora, fauna, and history of Costa Rica. Our driver, Ronald, was considerate and helpful and navigated the twisty, switch back roads with skill and care. An outstanding program!

Laura from Denver, CO Number of programs attended: 2
Date attended: 02/21/15 - 03/01/15
This program exceeded my expectations in all ways. As a beginning photographer, I felt that our instructor was able to address the needs of all levels including myself. I learned a tremendous amount of both photography as well as about nature in Costa Rica. This program will be difficult to follow.

Thank you Monica, I almost feel like a photographer. Kate, the naturalist, patience and helpfulness personified, Ronald gets the prize for driving Costa Rica's back roads. I hope I will be able to book again with the same marvelous threesome.....perfect trip ..What else could we ask for? Looking forward to my next trip on Road Scholar!!!!

This is a fabulous program! I can't believe how much I learned about photography in these 8 days. Monica is the consummate educator - she can relate to all skill levels and equipment and patiently guide you to blossom as a photographer. Her design of photo opportunities and exercises yielded amazing results for everyone, making it impossible for anyone to fail.

This was an excellent trip! The photography opportunities were amazing and Monica, our Instructor, is very knowledgeable as well as warm, friendly, and caring. She's a great teacher no matter what your skill level. Katherine (Naturalist) and Ronald (Driver) rounded out the wonderful team.

Digital Photography in Nature: Capturing the Best of Costa Rica. Program No. 15114 MBW 2/21/2014 to 3/3/2014. A must experience for those who want to see outstanding tropical ecology and capture the images with digital photography. The land is beautiful, the animals, especially the birds outstanding and the food and accommodations excellent. The 2 guides were outstanding (one overall leader and one photo-journaliist)that made the tour worthwhile and unforgetable. This trip is definitely a KEEPER. Sincerely, Alan B Rubin Oakton, VA, USA

This trip exceeded our expectations. Our first trip to Costa Rica was a delight.....it will not be our last. The organization and execution was superb. The photography instruction was tailored to individual needs and skill levels. The nature and cultural insights were high quality. I have recommended this trip to other serious photographers, whether or not their spouse has the same level of interest. He/she will not be disappointed.

Monica, Christian and Omar, our driver, helped us all capture spectacular memories of our journey through this beautiful country. They are a great team and I will always be grateful to them.

I'll admit up front that my husband chose this program and I went along to take a few pictures, enjoy great scenery, meet some new people, and most of all, get away from winter weather. I had no specific intention of actually learning anything new about photography. Monica Quesada did not know this, and within minutes she slid under my invisible fence with explanations that made sense. By the end of the program, her gentle encouragement had me clicking away with confidence, using manual settings I'd never explored. I got some amazing shots of the diverse wildlife Erick Gusman spotted for us. My intentions of seeing great scenery and meeting great new people were more than fulfilled. I recommend this trip to anyone -- beginners will learn to fly, veteran photographers will pick up new tricks. I do suggest that if you aren't compulsive about getting each shot exactly right, you might want to take a book to read or paper to write on each day. At some point you are likely to spend a chunk of time hanging around waiting for more fastidious peers to finish their shots.
