An excellent program and a very good way to get to know London and to learn some British history, particularly the early years. The tour leader is excellent. He knows his history but also shares interesting facts about British life, the royals, the culture, and the language that we share with the Brits. The format is semi-independent and I think all of us went off to "do our own exploring" most afternoons and evenings. And the leader was ready with suggestions and directions. But if you wanted to take a nap instead that was also okay! The hotel was very nice-it is right on the banks of the Thames and my 9th story room had a view of the river, the opposite bank and well into the south side of the city-very interesting! Other participants had a view of London Bridge which is lit up beautifully at night. A very satisfying week spent getting to know London and the Brits!

Great Program! Our program guide, Keith Bates, was professional, knowledgeable and made London history lots of fun. The hotel was conveniently located right next to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. We had free time to spend exploring London on our own or we could take optional interesting walks with Keith. My husband and I highly recommend this program.

If you love exploring great cities on foot and using public transportation, and enjoy learning about their history, this trip is for you! Our program director, Keith Bates, was magnificent! His knowledge of London's history and the history of royal families and palace intrigues, was vast and presented with charm and wit. The hotel was very comfortable and had wonderful breakfast buffets. We could walk to excellent nearby restaurants and enjoyed Turkish, French and Italian cuisine. I highly recommend this trip! JH
