This was a wonderful experience with very professional guides. The program was well planned with a diversified itinerary. While not too strenuous, it was challenging enough to keep everyone interested.

What a beautiful trip! I will never thank enough all the very talented Guides who welcomed our group and introduced us to the history of their countries.
We began our Amazon Journey on the Manatee River Boat. This part of the trip had been for me, the highlight of the program. Perhaps, the Manatee wasn't the most luxurious boat you can imagine but it fitted perfectly in the surroundings of the jungle and we had the basic comforts. What has been a delightful surprise was the food. I wouldn't have imagined such gourmet meals! Bravo for the Chef!
And we had Robbie, Freddie ant then Rubio who shared with us their knowledge of the local Indigenous' Culture and wildlife with such quality that we felt part of it. Every day was a discovery of the Napo River and its inhabitants mostly by a motor canoe. We were 11 persons plus the Guides and this small group was perfect for interactions. Cookie was driving the canoe with such dexterity that we wondered how he could navigate thru the falling trees spread around the river. We saw quite a lot of wildlife and for me it was a completely new experience. I am a city Girl and I loved every minute of it... even if the humidity was quite uncomfortable. The visit of the local people and the children was a teaching lesson.
After the Amazon, it took me two days to get used to the modern life in airports and big Cities like Lima and Cusco in Peru. My eyes were missing the beauty of the wildness.
Peru was another completely different adventure but fascinating too. This time, we had complete comfort in luxury hotels! the cuisine in Peru was also very good and the "pisco sour" excellent at the end of the day! We met Eddie who was fantastic guide to explain the Inca's Culture. Women loved the shopping activities in Cusco and Aguas Caliente!

The Road Scholar Ecuador/Peru trip I took was very good. There were 5 couples and me, a solo traveler, but I did not feel like a 5th wheel at any time. For me, the Ecuador riverboat part of the trip could have been shorter. I previously travelled to Costa Rica and some of the tropical wildlife and plants were not new to me. Otherwise, the trip was really fantastic. The educational lectures were excellent, the field trips were well-guided and it was lots of fun to learn about and experience a different culture. I would highly recommend this trip.

I am 75 with a damaged left leg, making declinging, rough terrain difficult. I was able to participate in most activities, but was OK with what I couldn't do and chose to "sit out" some activities. The staff was very helpful in helping me decide so as not to be a detriment to other travelers. Overall, I received full value from the trip and would do it again.

An educational program that fulfilled a dream I had for years. Enjoyed it very much.

This was a trip that met my expectations and far exceeded what I wanted to see. I had been on Amazon jungle trips but this was different and yet fun. I was glad that I was able to take the entire Ecudor/Peru trip.
