I loved Great Camp Sagamore and would go back tomorrow!! Our presenters were interesting and knowledgeable, and the raptor demonstration was great! If you are a birder, don't think of this as a birding trip (although some of us went out birding on our own each morning). But it was still a great experience. This was my 4th Road Scholar and I've met great people on each of them.

Great Camp Sagamore is in a remote area of the Adirondacks next to a serene lake. (No motor boats allowed.) It was very quiet and the food exceeded our expectations. Very friendly staff. There were not as many birds around for this late summer program as we'd hoped, saw no boreal species. Weather was perfect-partly sunny, low 80 days, low 60s overnight, rain only late evening or overnight.

You'll very much enjoy your interaction with Mark Manske and his raptors. A unique and unexpected experience.

My first Road Scholar experience was most enjoyable.

I highly recommend Camp Sagamore for its wonderful staff, good food, cool accommodations, and fun expeditions. However, the Road Scholar brochure slightly oversells the birds you will see.
