Road Scholar
Program #4759RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Holly Yohe did an absolutely outstanding job as Group Leader, as did Ann Parker. This program is an excellent for those that want their grandkids to better appreciate the freedoms we enjoy today.

My twelve year old grandson loved this program. He loves history and learned so much. The children do role playing and lots of hands on activities that makes it interesting and fun.

I wish every child in America could attend this program. It allows them to learn and experience the making of our country and, one hopes, helps prepare them to be informed, involved citizens. The mix of lecture, experiential, hands on, and even a debate was perfect for the age level. Every day ended with my grandson, 12, declaring "That was cool!"

Maureen from East Hampton, NY Number of programs attended: 4
Date attended: 07/21/13 - 07/26/13
Maureen Porta from East Hampton, NY My name is Julia & I am 11 years old. This trip was unforgettable. I meet a really nice girl and all of the kids were really friendly too. During the trip we were always doing something fun. I already had learned a bit about colonial times in school but this gave me a better visual about colonial America. My two favorite parts were when I was marching in the colonial militia in Yorktown and colonial dancing.

Margaret from Columbus, OH Number of programs attended: 17
Date attended: 07/21/13 - 07/26/13
This is a Road Scholar Program not to be missed! It awakened a love of American history for two 11-year old boys. Last year we took three boys to a Gettysburg Road Scholar Program and they talked about it for 12 months and I anticipate the same reaction!
