This was our first Road Scholar trip and we generally were satisfied. The instructors, Chris and Woody, were very knowledgeable and helpful to us as fairly inexperienced birders. We really enjoyed meeting the other participants. The only drawbacks were mediocre ;odging and a van with covered windows.

My first Road Scholar trip and a stress-free vacation. Well organized and warmly hosted. Our birding guides were not only knowledgeable, they were also great teachers and highly resourceful when weather conditions forced a change in plans. Highly recommended! Check out my posted video for a preview.

The down east birding program was an excellent birding adventure. The group leader is and outstanding birder, was quick to modify the program when the weather was uncooperative, and was dedicated to assuring that all participants were able to achieve their program goals. The location provides some stunning views. I highly recommend this program.

I thoroughly enjoy this, my first Road Scholar trip. Our guides were very knowledgeable and I saw 15 new life birds (including a puffin!). We also saw several varied habitats in this part of Maine. I also got some good photos as a bonus; I will post a few here.

If you want to see sea birds, whales, and seals, this program would be a great place to start. Maine climate is very pleasant.

This birding trip to Maine was my first Road Scholar experience and it was thoroughly enjoyable, educational and an overall excellent experience. I think the opportunity to meet new and interesting people of a like mind (enjoying birds and nature in general) was the most rewarding.

Birding Campobello Island was a trip to remember! The locations, guides, accommodations, cuisine and transportation were superior. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in viewing wildlife and enjoying scenic views, as well as learning a bit about American history.

This is a wonderful opportunity for birders to see springtime migrants, pelagic birds, be with a congenial group and knowledgeable generous leaders, and return to the same accommodations at an interesting historic site with delicious food every evening.

The birding Campobello Island program far exceeded our expectations. The accommodations in Prince Cottage were roomy and comfortable, the staff there was helpful and approachable. The birding leaders were there for our group only. Our group of 16 was usually broken into two groups of 8, so seeing birds identified by the experts was easy. Our bird experts were approachable, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The puffins were within arms reach from the blind on the island - perfect!

Birding on Campobello Island was truly a beautiful experience. The leaders, program activities and scenery exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend the trip to others.

This part of Maine is very special partly due to the activity of the Bay of Fundy which brings a rich diversity of water loving mammals and birds. Our leaders introduced us to this rich environment and made adjustments on the spot due to changes in weather forecast. One trip to see Puffins was moved up a day to avoid a rain storm. For West Coast people, like us, it was a chance to see many birds not found in our state.

The Campobello Island birding trip is great. I loved seeing the Puffins (spring only), but the entire experience was wonderful. Birding in many different habitats and seeing so many birds really well (including Warblers) was a definite bonus. And, the connection of the island with the Roosevelt's was a bonus. Wonderful leaders, beautiful area--I loved it!
